A note from me to you. . .
hey love,
You are not alone
I know the starvation of an appetite that will not be filled until you eat enough to feel sick and bloated. I know the restlessness and agitation, the sense that something is deeply wrong, the absolute inability to focus on anything substantial as you fight and run and will yourself not to give in. I know the momentary sense of relief when you finally let go. And then the secrecy, the shame, the self-disgust and isolation. I know the defeat of one million failed resolutions, the helplessness as it dawns on you that your strongest efforts have failed yet again, the exhaustion and the nausea of a body way beyond full, the self-hate and the compulsion to get rid of it all somehow. I know the need to remake your body. The weight gain, the weight loss, the “bad” foods”, skipped meals and fasting, the compulsion to monitor and control each food that enters your mouth. I know the unshakable feeling that somehow your worth is tied to the shape of your body.
I have been there before.
For three years I bounced between uncontrollable binge eating, fasting, and extreme food restriction. I began seeing a therapist during this time and tried a number of self-help methods, but saw little, if any progress. Often I felt like I was groping in the dark. I spent another two years studying and applying everything I could find related to eating disorders, addictive and compulsive behaviors, habit formation, nutrition, cognitive behavior therapy and mindfulness meditation. I recovered, relapsed, researched and recovered again. I began to see patterns. I discovered that, though each person who struggles with binge eating has their own unique journey, there is a system to how bulimia and BED develop and there are concrete steps you can take that DO create results.
And I have come out the other side whole.
Disordered eating is simply no longer a part of my life. I eat intuitively, have zero urges to binge, and feel more happy and at peace with my body than I have ever been. I have since received my Bachelor’s in psychology, become a certified yoga instructor, and worked with over one hundred individuals in residential group psychotherapy.
Please believe me when I say that bulimia and BED are not a lifetime prognosis, nor is recovery a lifelong journey. Disordered eating is not a deep rooted disease with a mysterious solution; it is a normal (yes NORMAL) response to a given set of internal circumstances and there is a tangible process you can follow to free yourself of it. This website is here to guide you through it and support you along the way. Your eating disorder has a beginning and an end, and you can take steps toward its end NOW. Come with me and we will do this together.

Your body is Perfect. Your body is a perfect expression of YOU. Your beliefs create pathways in your physical brain. Your emotions cause sensation in your physical body. Your eyes allow you to see. Your mouth allows you to communicate. Your hands allow you to create. Your feet allow you to move. Without an enlivening soul, your body is dead; without a physical body, your soul is intangible.
